The home computer, now and then
This prediction of the future computer in 1966 is surprisingly accurate in many ways, if you can get past the sexist clichés.
Ironically, the only part of the video that we still haven’t realized today is the fact that I still need to fill my own taxes even though the IRS has all the information on its servers.
Imagine a world where the IRS fills your tax return for you, now that is some serious science fiction.

This is the case in France now, your tax form is pre-filled and you just have to add your various deductions (union fees, donations to non-profit, etc.) and press "submit".
Yeah, in Spain too, Sam.
pre-filled tax returns? Imagine the screaming from all the out-of-work tax "avoidance" consultants!
"Imagine a world where the IRS fills your tax return for you", well this has been the case in Denmark for several years. In Marts 1996 it was possible to register and approve your tax return on the Internet. In 1999 the tax return fields with know values (from employer and like) was filled by the system. Now some 70 to 80 % do not need to change any number, only approval is needed. Source: http://www.skat.dk/SKAT.aspx?oId=399845

Yup, in Sweden too most people can just approve it without changing anything (including tax returns). I think there is even an iphone app to do the approval.
Same with here in the Philippines guys.
And in Norway, you don't even have to give your explicit approval, as long as you don't need to change anything.
Serious science fiction for me, is when the IRS stops collecting taxes.
