February 06, 2005BattleStar Galactica 2003
I just finished watching the first season of BattleStar Galactica 2003 and all I can say is... wow. I wasn't very impressed with the four-hour pilot that aired on SciFi last year, but I decided I was intrigued enough to try and watch the show when it could come out. The problem is... it never did. For some reason, Sky started showing it in September last year and it took a few more months for it to appear on SciFi, where it is airing as we speak. The screenwriters of BattleStar Galactica 2003 have taken a lot of liberties with the original characters and storyline, but if you can live with that, the show has some tremendous assets and it will keep you wanting for more week after week. Don't be fooled by the first episodes and hang on. The new Galactica is very stylishly slow and is casting a lot of parallel plotlines that seem to be unrelated or even hard to follow. It only gets better week after week, until the thirteenth episode where you will find some answers at the price of one of the best cliffhangers I have seen in a long time. I can't wait for season two. Posted by cedric at February 6, 2005 02:59 PM Comments
Yeah, I have almost the exact same feelings about the show. I didn't really care for the mini, but I saw the SkyOne airing of 33 and was instantly hooked. If anything, I am furious at the 13 episode season :P I am ready for another 12 or 13 right now Posted by: kebernet at February 6, 2005 07:29 PMYep, it's pretty awesome. I'm jealous that you've seen all of them already... I'm hanging on week by week on SciFi. I guess I won't have to wait as long for episodes past 13, though :-) Posted by: Jason Carreira at February 7, 2005 09:35 AMOh yes, just watched number 13. Progressive science fictional, stylish television. Bl**dy Ron Moore should be locked up for subjecting us that that incredible end to the season. I believe that the future of the series will be decided next week. Better start praying to the gods of Sci-Fi! Posted by: lucasdigital at February 10, 2005 02:46 PMPost a comment
